Sun, Swings, and Saving Lives: Putt for Paws 2025 Recap

On June 24, 2025, Planned PEThood of Georgia hosted its annual Putt for Paws Charity Golf Tournament at one of the state’s most prestigious private golf courses, The River Club in Suwanee. Despite soaring summer temperatures, more than 70 golfers came together for a day of friendly competition, connection, and compassion for pets in need.

The event brought together animal lovers, golf enthusiasts, and local businesses to raise critical funds for life-saving animal welfare efforts across Georgia. Players enjoyed 18 holes of golf, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and exciting contests like “Beat the Pro,” air cannon shots, hole-in-one challenges, and more.

“Even with the heat, the energy and enthusiasm out on the course was incredible,” said Planned PEThood CEO, CJ Bentley. “It was inspiring to see so many people come together to help pets and families in need.”

This memorable day would not have been possible without the generous support of corporate sponsors, including Subaru of Gwinnett, Choate Construction, Cable Depot, NTI, Tito’s Vodka, Golf Fore Events, King & Spalding, and Niagara. Their partnership not only enhanced the tournament experience but also provided vital funding for Planned PEThood’s programs.

River Club member and golf charity sponsor, Faith Pescatore, spoke at the event’s awards ceremony. Faith shared her positive experiences volunteering at Planned Pethood. She talked about the impact that the nonprofit makes through its low cost spay and neuter services, outreach and affordable vet care, to prevent unwanted pets from entering Georgia’s overcrowded shelters.

Faith wrapped up her comments by stating, “The next time you are thinking about where to give your charitable donations, think about Planned PEThood. They are in our own backyard, servicing our community.”

All proceeds from Putt for Paws go directly toward supporting Planned PEThood’s mission, which includes affordable veterinary care, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, community outreach, feral cat programs, humane education, and rescue/foster/adoption services.

Thanks to everyone who teed off to help save lives, one swing at a time!
