Sometimes pets can develop serious medical conditions that require costly emergency attention. Families who love and want the best for their pets are put in heartbreaking situations every day. Miley is one of those cases.

Miley and her mom came into our clinic, desperately seeking help. Her mom had noticed that something was off about Miley, so she took her to a local emergency veterinarian. After getting some bloodwork tested, she was told that everything looked okay. Still concerned, Miley’s mom took her to her regular veterinarian the next day. She was able to get an ultrasound, showing pyometra, a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus. It needed immediate removal, or it could cause complications, burst, and could have potentially killed Miley.

Miley’s mom was quoted almost $3,000. Knowing she could not afford that, Miley’s mom reached out to a coworker who had connections with Planned PEThood. Luckily, we were able to squeeze Miley in first thing the next morning. She made it through with flying colors. Thanks to our amazing surgical team, Miley received the life-saving help she needed. Without an affordable option, Miley may not have survived.
