Meet Sheila Dehdashti, One of Our Newest Board Members
News
We’re thrilled to welcome Sheila Dehdashti to the Planned PEThood of Georgia Board of Directors. Sheila is a global HR executive with a strong background in leading people, talent, and culture strategies. With experience across both large Fortune 500 companies and smaller organizations in tech and services, she brings valuable leadership and heart to our mission. While she was once the proud mom of two sweet cats, Mina and Misha, she is now a very dedicated aunt to Adeline, a rescued pup with plenty of personality (photos attached, of course).
Her journey with Planned PEThood began long before joining the board. “I’ve been a supporter since before PPOG officially came to be. I actually adopted my two cats from Companion Animal Rescue League (C.A.R.L.), which eventually merged with Planned PEThood,” she shared. Over time, she built relationships with both the former executive director, Elizabeth, and our current CEO, CJ. What began as an advisory role soon grew into a formal commitment as a board member.
“I care deeply about animals, but what drew me to Planned PEThood is how they go beyond rescue,” she says. “They meet families where they are, offering affordable vet care and preventing pets from ending up in shelters. Their work not only saves lives, it keeps pets with the people who love them.”
If you bumped into her at a networking event and asked why you should support Planned PEThood, she’d say this: “Supporting this organization means making a real, lasting impact on our communities. You’re helping reduce pet overpopulation in a humane and effective way—and you’re keeping animals out of shelters and in the homes where they belong.”
We’re honored to have Sheila on our board. Her passion, experience, and love for animals make her an invaluable addition to the Planned PEThood family.
