What do you get when you combine a room full of kittens with about 75 animal loving employees? A whole lot of smiles, stress relief, and even a few “aww” moments.
That’s exactly what happened when the team at WEG, a global electric motor and automation company with a facility in Duluth, Georgia, hosted a Planned PEThood Kitten Party on June11. And yes, a Kitten Party is a real thing (and just as adorable as it sounds).
Staff and volunteers from Planned PEThood of Georgia brought eight playful, adoptable kittens to the WEG conference room, transforming the space into a cozy cuddle zone. Employees were invited to take a break from their daily tasks, unwind, and interact with the kittens. All eight of the kittens, including the “Classic Candy” litter – Mary Jane, Razzles, Tootsie Roll, and Butterscotch, put on their cutest faces for lots of cuddling and playing.
This creative event served multiple purposes. Not only did it offer a chance for stress relief and team bonding across departments, but it also raised awareness about pet adoption. A few hearts were definitely stolen, and we wouldn’t be surprised if a kitten or two found their forever home thanks to this event.
But WEG didn’t stop at cuddles. As a Corporate Sponsor, they financially support their community through Planned PEThood. And in another amazing show of generosity and community spirit, they also organized a pet donation drive to collect supplies for animals in need.
Events like these highlight the power of partnerships between local businesses and nonprofits. Together, we can bring joy to workplaces, raise awareness for animal welfare, and help more pets find loving homes.
Thank you to the WEG team for opening your hearts (and your conference room) to our tiniest rescues. We can’t wait to do it again!
