Get Involved: Volunteer with Planned PEThood
Volunteering with Planned PEThood of GA is a rewarding experience for you, your family, and the pets you help. Volunteer opportunities range from monthly commitments to weekly shifts at cat adoption centers. As a clinic, Planned PEThood focuses on pet care, meaning many volunteer roles involve working with pets and their families. However, since we are not a shelter, hands-on opportunities with cats and dogs are limited.
Your help is greatly appreciated, and there are many ways to support our mission, including:
- Cat adoption centers in various Gwinnett pet stores: These centers are great for families who want to volunteer regularly. Children are welcome with adult supervision.
- Transportation assistance to shelters: If you don’t mind loud noises and traffic, and have availability during weekdays, this could be a great fit for you.
- Laundry lover? Our clinic goes through hundreds of loads of laundry each week and could use your help!
- Outreach events typically take place on Saturday mornings and provide free care to pets and their owners. Volunteer roles vary from data entry to animal handling.
- Concessions helpers wanted: A small team of volunteers assists at Ameris Amphitheatre in Alpharetta during the summer and fall to help raise funds for our programs. Each concert raises awareness and averages $1,000 per event.
- Crafty? Help by sewing trap covers or creating cat houses for feral cats, both of which are given to the public.
If you have a special skill or talent that could be helpful, please reach out to volunteer@PEThoodGA.org.
