Applesauce Finds Her Forever Home

Sweet Applesauce found her forever home! She is the cuddliest, cutest, most playful kitten ever! She’s already settling into her new home and getting to know her new doggie sister, who distracted her during her adoption picture. 

If you don’t remember Applesauce, let us remind you of her story. She was found on the side of the road, hit by a car, with a broken pelvis. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). The local shelter was unable to care for her and needed help from a rescue if she was going to survive. This is the reality many shelters face. Foster homes TRULY save lives. 

Luckily for Applesauce, she had a guardian angel looking out for her. Planned PEThood was able to rescue her and attempt to help heal her ailments with the help of a dedicated foster family.

Feline Leukemia (FeLV) research has changed drastically over the past few years, and additional testing confirmed she was in fact negative for the disease. YAY! On to surgery, she went! After a tail amputation and surgery on her leg, she was doing amazing and ready to find her forever home.

The only reason we were able to help Applesauce is because of supporters like you and programs like Orphan Kitten Club . Thanks to a special grant from OKC and the Kitten Lady , we were able to afford her extensive medical care. Orphan Kitten Club aims to help the most fragile kittens in shelters across the country have a chance at happy and healthy lives.
