28 Pit Bulls Helped at Pit Bull Wellness Event
Community Outreach
October is Pit Bull Awareness Month, a whole month dedicated to raising awareness for and helping these incredible pups. Sadly, pit bulls and pit bull mixes are the #1 most euthanized dogs in Georgia shelters due to overbreeding and low adoption rates. Thanks to a generous donor, our Wellness Clinic was able to hold a special Pit Bull Wellness Extravaganza. In total, 28 pit bulls were helped by providing annual bloodwork, vaccines, microchips, and more!
Meet Tiny Rocket, one pittie who was helped during this event. Tiny Rocket had a rough start in life. She bounced around a few homes before she was rescued by a dog trainer. When she was found, she was suffering an extensive eye injury, broken teeth, a broken tail, gunshot wounds, and more. Tiny Rocket had a long road to recovery. Her mom has done a tremendous amount of work with Tiny Rocket to help her gain her confidence and work through some tough issues. Despite whatever Tiny Rocket experienced in her past, she is a happy, joyous girl!
We’re so glad our team was able to help Tiny Rocket and many other pitties through the Pit Bull Wellness Extravaganza. If you or someone you know needs assistance with their pittie, please submit a request for help. Vaccines, antibiotics, spay/neuter vouchers, and more are available to qualified candidates at little or no charge.
